Job Description:
As the Fabricator, you will be required to fabricate and assemble structural metal products, such as frameworks or subassemblies for machinery, and according to job order or blueprints. You will read and interpret routings and blueprints, including weld symbols, developing a layout and plan sequence of operations for fabricating. You will be assembling structural metal products, applying trigonometry and knowledge of metal.
Essential Functions:
Locate and mark bending and cutting lines onto workpiece, allowing for stock thickness and machine and welding shrinkage,
Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, welders, and drill presses.
Hammer and grind workpiece to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
Position, align, fit, and weld together parts, using jigs, welding torch, and hand tools.
Preheat workpiece to render them malleable, using hand torch. Verify conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape.
Help design and construct templates, fixtures, and guarding.
Comply with company standards for attendance and hours of work.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, informing supervisor of defective or faulty equipment or materials and unusual conditions, maintaining quality standards and following safety rules.
Skills and abilities:
Operate crane and forklift.
Inspect and evaluate the quality of products, including first-piece inspection.
Apply mathematics to solve problems.
Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Comprehend written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Apply logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches.
Adjust controls of a machine or welder in a quick and precise manner
Work across fabrication work centers.
Imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.

Basic Requirements and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
2+ years of fabrication/welding background
