Exciting Co-Op Opportunity for Aspiring Engineers at BW Papersystems!

Are you a passionate engineering student eager to gain hands-on experience and dive into the world of manufacturing, industrial automation, and the paper industry? Join BW Papersystems for a dynamic Co-Op experience during June through December 2024.

BW Papersystems is a cornerstone in the paper industry, renowned for its commitment to “Inspired People, Superior Solutions, Lasting Commitment”. As an integral division of Barry-Wehmiller, we specialize in providing cutting-edge packaging automation and process engineering solutions.

Your Co-Op Experience

During your Co-Op term, you won’t just be an observer; you’ll be an active participant in our mission. You’ll collaborate with our dedicated product groups, gaining in-office exposure, and the unique opportunity to be on-site, assisting with installation, startup, and commissioning processes. At BW Papersystems, we’re committed to providing you with the essential experience needed to understand he responsibilities of a Full-Time engineer, and how Industrial Automation is ingeniously applied in the Corrugating and Paper Sheeting industry.

Co-Op Duties

Supporting BW Papersystems Project Teams

Collaborating on Manufacturing Engineering Designs

Engaging in Control Panel Design

Effective Communication and Team Collaboration

Utilizing Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities in Design, Programming, & Troubleshooting of Packaging Machinery & Line Control Systems

Contributing to Project Manufacturing

Involvement in Process Mechanical Design

Creating Process Equipment & Internal Routings

Creating Jig and Fixtures

Creating Visual Standard work using Solid Works composer

Help resolve quality issues within Manufacturing Operations

Educational Requirements

Working Towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.

2+ years of coursework in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical schooling

Basic understanding of Solid Works and have strong computer skills.
