Circuit Design Engineer (Phillips)


Job Description:

As a Circuit Design Engineer, this role will have technical analysis knowledge and/or resolution of engineering problems with consideration of manufacturing feasibility, cost, and operation.

Essential Functions:

Design/alteration of moderately complex electrical equipment
Test and debug equipment to isolate defects
Evaluation of moderately complex designs; make engineering changes
Evaluate new parts
Prepare schematics, assemblies, detailed drawings and bills of material (BOM) for moderately complex equipment
Support manufacturing/assembly teams
Manage and maintain project file
Create and maintain product documentation
May travel to customer site to support field teams with technical assistance as required
Other duties as assigned
Required Experience or strong understanding of the following:

High-speed digital circuit design
Mixed signal / Analog circuit design
Circuit theory and analysis
Semiconductor devices
Circuit simulations and analysis
Testing and debugging of prototype circuits
Creating schematics using design software
Creating PCB layouts using design software
Microcontroller and DSP interfacing and programming
FPGA programming and implementation
Modern and Classical control theory
Instrumentation
Job Specifications:

Must be able to perform all Level I duties competently
Strong logical and reasoning abilities
Problem-solving ability
Working knowledge of manufacturing methods; electrical design and project management
Verbal and written communication skills
Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
Typically has 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering
Bonus Skills

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as EMC/EMI compliance
Knowledge of CE, UL or CSA standards
Experience with power electronics
