Thursday, February 16, 2023 was a special night in Abbotsford as the girls' Loggers basketball team celebrated another Marawood North conference championship, and Kacy Eggebrecht joined the 1,000 point club in a dominant 75-39 victory over the Falcons (12-9).

The Loggers earned a share of the  conference championship with the  Athens Bluejays.  The win was Phillips' 38th straight against Marawood North conference foes.

Meanwhile, Eggebrecht came into the contest with 998 career points.  Not surprisingly, Kacy needed little time and effort to reach the milestone when she connected on her first shot attempt; a corner 3-pointer at the 16:03 mark of the first half.

Eggebrecht became just the fifth girl in Loggers history to reach the 1,000 point milestone.  The junior guard finished with 21 points on the evening, while her backcourt partner Mataya Eckert led all scorers with 24.

Eckert was responsible for 18 first half points, which helped the Loggers race out to a 43-17 lead at halftime.  Eight Loggers would score on Thursday night.

The win improves the Loggers record to 20-3 overall and concludes the regular season.

Phillips earned a #1 seed in the playoffs, which begin next week.  The girls will play next Friday, February 24, 2023 against the winner of a regional quarterfinal matchup between Boyceville (10-11) and Chetek-Weyerhaeuser (9-12).  Tipoff will be at 7 p.m.  If the girls win next Friday, they will host the regional final the following day.  Game time will be 7 p.m. for that contest, as well.

Let's pack the stands and support the girls in their quest for more hardware!
