WINTER DRAWDOWN OF AREA WATERWAYS SCHEDULED

In order to prevent shoreline degradation, control aquatic invasive species, and provide water storage capacity to mitigate spring flooding, the annual winter drawdown of area waterways will begin on Monday, October 22, 2023.

Weather permitting, Duroy Lake, Elk Lake, Long Lake, Musser Lake, Soo Lake, and Wilson Creek Flowage will be drawn down eight to ten inches by the week of October 29, 2023.

Sailor Creek Flowage and Prentice Flowage will be drawn down by six inches.

Due to current low summer pool water levels, Solberg Lake will be monitored to determine the needed drawdown level.

Water levels will return to normal as the snow melts in springtime.
