CASHLESS PAYMENT SYSTEM, CATS, DNR CLEAN-UP, BUILDING DISCUSSED AT COUNTY MEETING

At the October 12, 2023 Price County Executive Committee Meeting, County Administrator Nick Trimner discussed the possibility of the county going cashless.  This cashless payment system would not include property tax payments.  Supervisor Paula Houdek stated she received communication from a resident who opposed this idea.

Nick also discussed that there are cats still being held at Catkins pending a court case later in November 2023.  He stated that to date in 2022, Catkins had 175 animals, but there are already over 300 in their care in 2023, so they are currently at capacity.  Nick stated he will meet with the Catkins board regarding contracted services in the future.

The DNR clean-up of the 5-R property has been completed.  The Village of Catawba will help with burnable debris.  Approximately 18 large, empty semi trailers are on the property that need to be salvaged.

The former Fred Mueller Ford building is still for sale, and the owners are very motivated to sell.  An on-site clinic is interested in coming into Price County.  Several businesses and school districts are very interested, as well.  The county may be interested in the north parking lot.
